What is that ?
The key for any artist/band is to have one. On one hand you have to have one that works for you, but also enough to give you a product that doesn't make everyone involved looking for alias names or demanding a disclaimer on the cover. I think the best rule of thumb for me is to estimate what your conservative sales target is, and make the proceeds from that your budget.I've spent most of my life making small budgets sound bigger, but then there's the challenge of the client realizing that their budget wasn't enough for their expectations. The key is being realistic with a) Your budget and b) What that buys you I know that I can make any budget work, whatever it is, but I'll spend the first little while with you being sure you know where we're going to end up. There's nothing worse than being given a $2 budget and then have a U2 record presented as the goal to be achieved. |
